The Senghor Chair is part of the Réseau international des Chaires Senghor de la Francophonie (RICSF). With its 21 chairs, the RICSF is active in Africa, America, Asia, and Europe; it aims to encourage independent research and advance knowledge about the Francophonie. It aims to increase research in the field, to foster the discussion of ideas on the Francophonie and its evolution, and promote cooperation among Francophone partners.
University of Ottawa Senghor Chair on Health and Development in Sub-Saharan Africa
The Chair’s aim is to advance our knowledge of the Francophonie and contribute to academic discussions on approaches and interventions to dampen rising rates of maternal and child mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa, one of the 17 United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
