Guest speaker: Jean-Philippe Thivierge is a Full Professor of Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on computational and quantitative investigations of how the activity of synaptic circuits contributes to cognitive outcomes including perception, learning, memory, and decision making. His lab uses a variety of techniques including large-scale simulations of neuronal dynamics and multi-electrode recordings in cortex and hippocampus.
