Charlotte Gagnon-Lewis completed her master’s student in anthropology at the University of Ottawa. Her current research focused on sea urchin fishing in Eastern Quebec and the Lower St. Lawrence region. She seeks to understand how this practice fits within the agro-industrial system and in a redefinition of the contribution of the local and the global in food supply.

Mascha Gugganig
Mascha Gugganig is a socio-cultural anthropologist in Science & Technology studies (STS) scholar, and a current Alex Trebek Postdoctoral Fellow in AI and Environment at the University of Ottawa. In the context of cities, she is interested in indoor vertical farming as declared solution for urban food production, and how such ‘closed’ systems render ‘closed’ cities (and vice versa).

Marie-Dominik Langlois
Marie-Dominik Langlois is a doctoral student in sociology at the University of Ottawa and in social anthropology and ethnology at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESSS). She is the coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Research Group on the Territories of Extraction (IRGTE) since 2017 and of the uOttawa-ULyon Joint Research Chair on the Urban Anthropocene. Her research focuses on the Xinka people's reaffirmation of their Indigenous identity, their resistance to mining, and their defense of the right to consultation and consent in Southeast Guatemala.
