The Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) is pleased to partner with the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS), the ARCH Disability Law Centre & the Council of Canadians with Disabilities to present this online event:
Crip time & workers with disabilities: Toward a new duty to accommodate
All too often, the duty to accommodate workers with disabilities remains an afterthought. In this panel, we discuss the experiences of workers with disabilities and their relationship with time. Based on a SSHRC-funded Insight Grant led by Professor Ravi Malhotra, this webinar explores insights of workers with disabilities. Based on more than three dozen interviews with workers with disabilities across Ontario aged 18-65, it brings forth their voices to develop a new theory of the duty to accommodate.
Join Ravi Malhotra (Full Professor, Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, University of Ottawa), Julia Dobrowolski (Research Assistant, MSc student in Health Systems, Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa) and two research project participants as they discuss themes such as the process of obtaining accommodations, barriers, stigma, the impact of COVID-19, and other highlights.
