Thanks to the financial support of the Human Rights Research and Education Centre, the Faculty of Law and the University of Åbo Akademi, Justine Monette-Tremblay was able to stay at the Institute for Human Rights at the University of Åbo Akademi (Turku, Finland) from May 18 to June 1, 2024.

During her stay, she was able to participate in the Institute's activities and present her research on the impacts of truth and reconciliation commissions on victims. More specifically, she focused on exploring the link between truth and reconciliation commissions (TRCs) and the restorative justice movement, which is often invoked to justify the choice of this form of post-conflict justice. She tried to find out whether these can really be qualified as forms of restorative justice from the victims' point of view, and what the implications of this qualification are.
