The ISS group, part of the Office of the VP Research and Innovation at uOttawa, facilitates collaborative research and development projects between industry and University research teams.

Our mandate

Innovation Support Services mission is to advance research at uOttawa for societal benefit and impact through student experiential learning and the promotion of partnerships with industry, government, the community and other stakeholders. We further active engagement between those developing new discoveries and those best able to make them available for societal benefit.

Our multifaceted team is comprised of business, legal and administrative professionals. We also have a strong foundation in the sciences and engineering, enabling us to better understand your research objectives and related needs.

Our greatest asset is our collective experience in developing, protecting and commercializing research results. We’re also able to advise on what you need to access research resources at uOttawa.

ISS works closely with other offices under the VP Research, namely, Research Management Services (RMS) and Strategic Development Initiatives (SDI), to provide research support to University of Ottawa faculties. We also rely on our affiliated organizations, including:

Our office is accessible by the stairs in the middle of the building or at elevators at either end. We are on the third floor of the building on the atrium (canal) side of the SITE building.
