About us
Our mission
“Our goal is to foster collaboration and long-term partnerships with industry that result in mutually beneficial outcomes. We're in Canada’s largest tech park to make innovation happen.”
Guy Levesque
— Associate Vice-President, Innovation, Partnerships and Entrepreneurship
The uOttawa Kanata North Campus is located in Canada's largest technology park
We have two campus locations in Kanata North, accounting for over 8,000 sq. ft. of space, including the first academic-industry research lab in the tech park, the Smart Connected Vehicle Innovation Centre.
The tech park is a hub for innovation and technological advancement. Bringing together over 540 companies and 33,000 workers, it serves as a destination for leading technology companies, startups and academic institutions, fostering collaboration and driving cutting-edge development in telecommunications, software development, cybersecurity, life sciences, semiconductor technologies and more!
We are a founding academic and anchor partner in Hub350
The University of Ottawa joined Hub350 as a founding anchor partner in 2021. Hub 350 is a state-of-the-art global technology centre in Canada’s largest technology park, located just minutes from uOttawa’s Kanata North campus. Home of the original Mitel Networks, Hub350 serves as a gateway to a world-class tech, finance and academic research ecosystem that is thriving in Kanata North. Since being established, Hub350 has been powered by the Kanata North Business Association (KNBA).
An active partner since 2018
In 2018 | uOttawa became the first postsecondary institution to open a satellite campus in the tech park. Since then, we’ve been an active, trusted community partner bringing exceptional value and impact. Some notable achievements and activities include:
2020 | The uOttawa Kanata North Campus grows its footprint from approximately 4,000 sq. ft. to over 8,000 sq. ft.
2021 | The first academic-industry research lab in the tech park, the Smart Connected Vehicle Innovation Centre, is launched.
2022 | uOttawa becomes an anchor partner with Hub350, a place for industry, academic and finance partners to collaborate close to our campus at 350 Legget Drive.
2022 | We open a second campus space at Hub350 across from the RBCx Finance Quarter.
2023 | Our very own Guy Levesque, associate vice-president, innovation, partnerships and entrepreneurship, is named chair of the Kanata North Business Association board of directors, the first time the KNBA has a leader from an academic institution as board chair.
