A postdoctoral fellow is a postgraduate researcher with research interests related to the thematic priorities of the LIFE Research Institute (LRI).

• Is ideally supervised by a researcher who is a member of the LRI.
• Can serve as a collaborator or co-investigator on research projects.

Our expectations are as follows:

• Ideally contributes to committee work or LRI activities, including knowledge mobilization, either through the consultative process or through direct participation.
• Renders the link with the LRI evident on all communications in line with LRI-related
  activities.
• Notifies LRI administration when their postdoctoral status has changed.
• Accepts that their name be posted on the LRI website as a member of the Institute.
• Ideally contributes to the promotion of LRI activities and initiatives.

Communication:

• Unless informed specifically, is considered a full member of the LRI and will receive all communications directed at members.

Must be a student at the undergraduate or graduate level supervised by the principal researchers of
the LRI.

• Has research interests related to the thematic priorities of the LIFE Research
  Institute (LRI).
• Is ideally supervised by a researcher who is a member of the LRI.

Our expectations are as follows:

• Ideally contributes to committee work or LRI activities, including knowledge mobilization, either through the consultative process or through direct participation.
• Ideally is a member of the student committee.
• Renders the link with the LRI evident on all communications in line with LRI-related activities.
• Notifies LRI administration when the status of student has changed.
• Accepts that their name be posted on the LRI website as a member of the Institute.
• Ideally contributes to the promotion of LRI activities and initiatives.

Communication: 

Unless informed specifically, is considered a full member of the LRI and will receive all communications directed at members, with the exception of those targeting researcher members and postdoctoral fellows.

Community member

• Is not a member of the research community but wishes to be involved in
  targeted initiatives and events.
• Examples of members who may choose this category are non-researcher clinicians, decision-makers, interested citizens, members who consider themselves retired from active employment, including retired researchers who may no longer wish to be engaged in active research, individuals from the private sector, and donors.

Our expectations are as follows:

• Is involved in LIFE Research Institute activities as identified in this
  registration form.
• Ideally, attends at least one assembly meeting within a two-year
  period.
• Accepts that their name be posted on the LRI website as a member of the Institute.
• Ideally contributes to the promotion of LRI activities and initiatives.

Communications:

• Unless informed specifically, a community member will not receive all communications directed at members. Instead, community members will receive information regarding public events and initiatives as well as be targeted when initiatives are relevant to the stated areas of interest in their registration form.

Member representing a group or organization

• Represents a group or organization and not an individual. The interest to be a member is more corporate or organizational in nature rather than individual.
• Examples of members who may choose this category are other research institutes or centers, not-for-profit organizations, for-profit businesses, community or health organizations, and funding partners.

Our expectations are as follows:

• Is involved in LIFE Research Institute activities as identified in this
  registration form.
• Notifies LRI administration who will represent the group and when
  changes in the contact person occur.
• Ideally, the representative attends at least one assembly meeting
  within a two-year period.
• Accepts that their name be posted on the LRI website as a member of the Institute.

Instead, community members will receive information regarding public events and initiatives as well as be targeted when initiatives are relevant to the stated areas of interest in their registration form.
