Event description

In recent years, self-care has gained more public attention, underscoring its growing role in mental health maintenance. This presentation will define self-care and explore its associations with both negative and positive aspects of mental health. It will present findings from two recent studies on aid workers and mental health professionals, examining how self-care might contribute to their psychological adjustment. In fact, this presentation will explore how self-care practices can enhance the psychological resilience of at-risk workers facing stress or trauma. Lastly, it will address the limitations of current research and suggest important next steps to gain a more comprehensive understanding of self-care’s effectiveness.
