Dr Wolfgang Alschner is currently an Assistant Professor within the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, with cross-appointment to the Faculty of Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. An empirical legal scholar specialized in international economic law and the computational analysis of law, his research focuses on using social and computer science methods in order to empirically investigate international law. His areas of interest include international investment law and arbitration, WTO law, regional trade agreements, international dispute settlement, law & economics and empirical analysis of law.
Dr Florian Martin-Bariteau is currently an Assistant Professor of Law and Technology in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section and the Director of the University of Ottawa Centre for Law, Technology and Society. A technologist and creative turned legal scholar, his research focuses on Technology and Intellectual Property Law, with a special interest in Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Secrets and Whistleblowers. He is the recipient of the 2018-2019 Common Law Emergent Researcher Award.
