On March 28, 2014, the eGirls Project will host the eGirls Public Conference, "eGirls eCitizens: Putting Theory, Policy & Education into Dialogue with the Voices of Girls and Young Women"

The eGirls Project is a 3-year research project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), under its Partnership Development Programme. The Project is investigating the relationship between gender, privacy and equality in online social networking and is focused on better understanding the perspectives of girls and young women in relation to these issues.

The eGirls Public Conference will present a keynote address from Jessica Ringrose, University of London, entitled, ‘Tits, Six Packs and Bits: Gendered Commodification, Reward and Shame in an Affective, Digital Economy of Teen Sexting”. There will also be a theatrical performance entitled, “Half Girl/Half Face”, written by Zoë Erwin-Longstaff and performed by Arlen Aguayo Stewart.
