Professors Bailey and Steeves are pleased to announce that the website for The eGirls Project has gone live at www.egirlsproject.ca. Jane and Val are the co-principal investigators on The eGirls Project, a 3-year research project funded under SSHRC's Partnership Development Grant programme.

The eGirls Project is investigating the relationship between privacy, gender and equality in online social networking, and is focused on better understanding the perspectives of girls and young women in relation to these issues. The research team also includes Professors Jacquie Burkell (University of Western Ontario) and Priscilla Regan (George Mason University), Jane Tallim (MediaSmarts) and Madelaine Saginur (CLTS), as well as institutional partners the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, MediaSmarts and the Centre for Law, Technology & Society. Many thanks to research assistants Miriam Martin and Trevor Milford for all of their work in making the website a reality.
