Malorie Kanaan Is the Recipient of the Jacques Gaudreau Graduate Scholarship
We are pleased to announce that Malorie Kanaan was awarded the Jacques Gaudreau Graduate Scholarship in International Human Rights Law for the academic year 2021-2022. This scholarship is awarded each year to an outstanding graduate student (Masters or Ph.D.) in the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa.

Malorie holds a Licence of Civil Law and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. A student-athlete in swimming, she was recognized a Canadian Academic All-Star by David Johnston (2016) and Julie Payette (2020) for her academic and athletic excellence.

She is currently pursuing her Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) under the supervision of professors Marie-Ève Sylvestre and Audrey Ferron Parayre. Her research project focuses on the issues of judicialization and governance with respect to homeless persons and accountability mechanisms through legislation. She is also working with Professor Marie-Ève Sylvestre on a research project that aims to document racial profiling in traffic stops in Quebec.

The Jacques Gaudreau endowment fund was established in 1992 in memory of Jacques Gaudreau (1947-1989), an officer of the Department of External Affairs, by his friends, colleagues, and family.

Congratulations, Malorie!
