On February 15, Professor Jane Bailey delivered a public lecture entitled "Will the Real Digital Girl Please Stand Up" at Hong Kong University as part of a lecture series sponsored by HKU's Law and Technology Centre.
The talk was based on a paper that Professor Bailey co-authored with Dr. Valerie Steeves, a professor in UOttawa's Criminology Department, which discusses girls' involvement with online media and the ways in which that involvement and girls themselves are characterized in Canadian policy dialogue. Professor Bailey is currently a visiting research professor at HKU, where she is teaching the course "Human Rights and Cyberspace".
