Professor Jennifer A. Chandler has been awarded the 2012 James Kreppner Fellowship from Canadian Blood Services.

The Fellowship provides support in the amount of $150,000 over 2 years to support her research on ways for practitioners, families and potential organ donors to think about death and donation in ways that are more psychologically and philosophically satisfying and comprehensible than biological criteria of death, while maintaining the safeguards that we attempt to create using firm legal boundaries established by those biological criteria. This award was open to investigators working on any aspect of research in blood system studies, with special consideration of excellent applicants working in any area of health law that may benefit the mission and mandate of Canadian Blood Services, including organ and tissue donation and cord blood banking.

Congratulations Professor Chandler!
