Professor Teresa Scassa, Canada Research Chair in Information Law and Policy, demonstrates a strong commitment to open access through both her research programme and her publishing practices. Focusing on the intersection between law and emerging information technologies, her research touches on a variety of open access issues, including open data and open government. She speaks frequently on open access issues before academic, government and civil society audiences, and publishes a blog (http://www.teresascassa.ca/) that addresses a broad range of information law issues, including open access.
The Open Scholarship Award is presented as part of the University’s International Open Access Week Celebrations. Professor Scassa is the second Faculty member of the Centre for Law, Technology and Society to win this award: Professor Michael Geist won the inaugural Open Scholarship Award in 2016.
