Signed during a ceremony with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada on September 20, 2024, the agreement extends the research chair for three additional years. This research chair is shared between professors Scott Simon (School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies) and André Laliberté (School of Political Studies).
This partnership will continue to enhance and further develop the quality of research and teaching in Taiwan Studies at FSS and broadly disseminate knowledge of the politics, economy, external relations, history, society, languages, and culture of Taiwan. The activities of the chair will include the supervision of graduate students and an annual public Taiwan Studies Lecture Series.
Congratulations to co-directors, professors Simon and Laliberté! We wish you continued success.
