Virginie Jetté is a doctoral student in law under the supervision of Dr. Teresa Scassa. She supports several researchers in their knowledge mobilization and dissemination strategies and, in this capacity, is in charge of communications for the Centre.

For the 5th edition of its international researchers program, ITS Rio has selected eleven researchers from different countries and backgrounds to form an interdisciplinary team. Together, the group will seek to build a more open and connected world from Brazil with a Global South approach.

As a Fellow of ITS Rio, Virginie Jetté will reflect on the influence of technology on political and legislative processes in the information society in the era of big data. She will have the pleasure of traveling to Brazil this summer to work with the other fellows and the ITS Rio team.

ITS Rio is a research organization whose mission is to ensure that Brazil and the Global South respond creatively and appropriately to the opportunities provided by technology in the digital age, and that the potential benefits are broadly shared across society. The ITS Rio teams conduct their work in collaboration with the Brazilian government, and have worked with organizations such as IGF, ICANN and ITU / WCIT.
