Cher Weixia Chen
The Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) is pleased to welcome Professor Cher Weixia Chen who will serve as Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Human Rights and Social Justice this Fall 2023.

Cher Weixia Chen is an Associate Professor in the School of Integrative Studies, the founder of the Human Rights and Global Justice Initiative, a Senior Scholar of the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being, and a faculty fellow of the Institute for a Sustainable Earth, George Mason University (GMU).

She co-developed the undergraduate concentration in Social Justice and Human Rights, the minor in Social Justice and Human Rights, and the MAIS concentration in Social Justice and Human Rights. She coordinates and teaches courses in the International Studies, Legal Studies, and Social Justice and Human Rights concentrations. Dr. Chen is the recipient of the 2021 GMU Oscar Mentoring Excellence Award.

Professor Chen is excited to be the 2023 Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Human Rights and Social Justice at the University of Ottawa HRREC, where she will study the prohibition of sexual harassment in the workplace from a cross-cultural perspective.
