The University of Ottawa AI + Society and IVADO release a global policy brief led by Prof. Florian Martin-Bariteau and Prof. Catherine Régis to provide policymakers with actionable globally-oriented policy guidance on the impact of AI on democracy and electoral integrity

As the government reflects on the use of deployment of AI in the federal public service, the President of the Treasury Board of Canada invited two professors from the University of Ottawa Centre for Law, Technology and Society, Dr. Florian Martin-Bariteau and Dr. Teresa Scassa, to join a critical conversation to design Canada’s AI strategy for the public sector.

Internet governance, and more generally the global governance of digital issues, is at a turning point. At the end of April, Dr. Florian Martin-Bariteau was invited to play a key role at NetMundial+10, a global summit to address the global challenges of the governance of the digital world.

In recognition of his exceptional efforts and broad impact, Dr. Florian Martin-Bariteau has been awarded the University of Ottawa’s Early Career Researcher of the Year Award for 2023, in the category of Humanities, Social Sciences, Fine Arts and Literature.
