The uoConnect Grant Program is intended to help fund knowledge mobilization events and outreach activities led by uOttawa faculty members and to support our strategic areas of research and knowledge mobilization priorities.

Overview

The uoConnect grants aim to support events and outreach activities led by uOttawa researchers, and to compliment other sources of funding.

1. uoConnect events:

These events can include conferences, workshops, scientific symposia, forums and other short-term research-related knowledge mobilization events that are usually completed in a week or less (e.g., a three-day scientific conference, a technical workshop, or a one-week summer institute). Eligible events are typically academic in nature and may include the dissemination of research results within the scientific and scholarly community as well as other academic and non-academic stakeholders.

2. uoConnect outreach:

Outreach activities are uOttawa-led knowledge mobilization (KMb) activities with knowledge-users beyond academia (i.e.: decision-makers, community members, patients, the public and other non-academics involved in a given issue). Eligible outreach includes public debates, lectures, community or patient-engagement activities, audiovisual outputs, and knowledge exchange with non-academics to inform policy and practice.

Activities linked to the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities and health research (Tri-Agency mandates) are funded through this competition.

Research Management Services and the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation are grateful to the SSHRC Institutional Grant and the SSHRC Exchange Grant Program, which are funding social sciences and humanities activities as part of this uoConnect Grant Program.
