The Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation’s strategic reserve can partially fund the operation and maintenance costs of stand-alone CFI-funded equipment (with the exception of core facilities). This support is not intended to cover all operating and maintenance costs, but rather to supplement the support already provided by the faculties and researchers.
The maximum funding available is $10,000 per application.
Eligible costs include:
- Extended warranties and/or service contracts not included with purchase
- Extensions of warranty coverage and software licences
- Maintenance and repairs
- Spare parts
- Replacement of a CFI-funded infrastructure item in need of repair, provided that the cost of the replacement is less than the cost of the repair (the new equipment must have similar features)
