The University of Ottawa is happy to partner with Hub350 for a series of events bringing together academia, industry, and innovation in Kanata North and beyond. These events are designed to foster collaboration between uOttawa and the tech park’s ecosystem, highlighting research, talent, and solutions for today’s challenges.

Hojjat Salemi explores the dynamic interplay between business sectors and the rapid advancements in computing technology, shedding light on how these forces reshape industries. Drawing on examples—from the iPhone’s unexpected hardware innovations to Kodak’s cautionary tale and China’s Sputnik moment with DeepMind’s AlphaGo—he examines the evolving semiconductor market and the far-reaching impact of technological disruption.

This talk delves into other sectors being transformed by AI-driven breakthroughs while challenging the notion that Moore’s Law is obsolete. Instead, discover how it continues to drive strategic decisions in today’s competitive landscape, influencing everything from business models to national policies.

Participants will rotate between stations using a speed networking format, engaging in focused conversations on AI-driven innovation, industry challenges, and potential partnerships. The Innovation Support Services (ISS) team will also be available to answer questions and facilitate discussions..
