Scholarship amounts by place of origin

Scholarship amounts vary, depending on the admission average and the faculty offering the program.

Excellence scholarships are awarded through a competitive process among the top candidates with an admission average of 90% or higher who apply for admission by March 1, 2025, and whose admission has been processed by March 15, 2025. Candidates whose first choice is the University of Ottawa will be favoured. Recipients must start their program in September. Insofar as possible and to maximize diversity, each faculty will award the same number of scholarships.

Conditions for keeping the scholarship

International English Entrance Scholarship

Should the International English Entrance Scholarship amount change, the scholarship will be renewed at the original amount indicated in the student’s offer of admission, as long as the student continues to meet the conditions below.

This scholarship can be renewed for up to 12 installments if the student meets these renewal criteria:

  • Maintain full-time enrolment in the undergraduate program in which the student was admitted and enrolled.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.00 or higher at the end of each academic year.

International English Excellence Scholarship

Should the International English Excellence Scholarship amount change, the scholarship will be renewed at the original amount indicated in the student’s offer of admission, as long as the student continues to meet the conditions below.

This scholarship can be renewed for up to 12 installments if the student meets these renewal criteria:

  • Maintain full-time enrolment in the undergraduate program in which the student was admitted and enrolled.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 8.00 or higher at the end of each academic year.

Should the student have a CGPA between 5.00 and 7.99, the scholarship will be renewed for the amount equivalent to that given for the International English Entrance Scholarship.

Note to students from China and South Korea: Since these students are ineligible for the International English Entrance Scholarship, they can only renew their Excellence Scholarship if at the end of each academic year, their CGPA is 8.00 or higher and they have maintained full-time enrolment in the undergraduate program to which they were admitted.
