Students can submit a full-time OSAP application online, whether they are completing a work-term or a study-term. Please contact the Financial Aid and Awards Service, if you have any questions.

Can I receive OSAP funding if I am taking courses on a letter of permission?

University of Ottawa students taking courses on a letter of permission at another institution during the Spring/Summer term can be considered for OSAP funding on a part-time or full-time basis.  In order for the OSAP application to be processed via the University of Ottawa Financial Aid office, the student must also be registered to at least one course with the University of Ottawa.  In addition to submitting the online OSAP application, students must also provide a copy of their approved letter of permission, proof of registration, and proof of the study period of the course(s) as well as a copy of the course cost information.

Can I receive OSAP funding if I am a student taking all my summer courses at another institution over the Spring/Summer term?

Yes. If you are a student taking all your courses at another institution during the Spring/Summer term, you must submit an OSAP application to the institution where you are paying tuition fees. The application will be processed by the host institution, therefore all questions relating to the application should be referred to their financial aid office.

Can I receive OSAP funding if I am a student going on exchange during the Spring/Summer term?

Yes. Students who are going on exchange can receive OSAP funding during the Spring/Summer term provided they are paying their tuition fees to the University of Ottawa.
