Tuition fees are approved each year by the University, usually in May or June, and come into effect in September.
The Ontario government regulates Canadian students’ tuition fees for universities in the province, whether they reside in Ontario or elsewhere in the country. Its framework sets out the maximum increases allowed and the rules for applying them, which vary depending on several criteria. Fees for international students are unregulated.
For international students, the University has the power to determine tuition fees, increases and the rules to apply them. Given this, to allow you to predict your tuition fees for the duration of your studies, the University adopted a tuition fee predictability commitment, which limits increases for returning students.
The University tries as much as possible to limit tuition fee increases for as many students as possible. For more on 2024–2025 tuition fees, see the following information:
Most incidental fees, ancillary fees and administrative fees will increase in line with the annual increase in the consumer price index, which is 4.5%. Certain fees have been eliminated and others added. For more, see the various fee pages.
