Working while you study
Alternate between work and study with the Co-operative Education Program
Apply for employment through the Work-study Program (WSP)

The Work-Study Program allows you to earn extra money and gain valuable work experience that will make you more employable after you've finished your degree. You can access part-time job opportunities on campus during the academic year to earn around $3,000 as well as full-time opportunities during the summer months to earn close to $6,000.
International students who demonstrate financial need and who have a valid Canadian work permit can participate in the WSP.
Gain experience through teaching and research assistantships
Most academic units offer research and teaching assistantships which allow for earning money while sharing your passion with other students or further delving into the subject through research. Priority for the attribution of these positions is given to University of Ottawa admission scholarship holders. Some academic units may nevertheless award assistantships to other students based on the availability of funds.
Contact your academic unit to know if positions are available and learn how to apply.
Services and resources for Teaching Assistants TAs, are available on the Teaching and Learning Support Service (TLSS) webpage. From training to technology to awards, TLSS supports TAs in a variety of ways.
