Welcome to the Indigenous Resource Centre

The University of Ottawa’s main campus is built upon the ancestral lands of the Algonquin Nation. The Mashkawazìwogamig Indigenous Resource Centre works closely with all university faculties and services to build a culturally sensitive and welcoming climate for Indigenous students and provide services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students to support their classroom, career and personal goals in a manner consistent with their culture and values.

Celebrate diversity and support the 2SLGBTQ+ community

At the University of Ottawa, we celebrate individual diversity and choice in all areas of life. The University prides itself on being a safe and welcoming space where diversity and inclusivity are highly valued.

The University of Ottawa Student Union runs the Pride Centre, as part of its Sexual Health and Wellness services. This centre strives to represent a culture of affirmation through a sex-positive, gender-diverse, anti-sexist, anti-colonialist, anti-racist, anti-ableist student representative focused on 2SLGBTQ+ topics.

Resources for and from the Black Community

The University of Ottawa is firmly committed to working to eliminate anti-Black racism in any and all forms. It is essential that everyone on our campus feels safe and be treated with respect. Though we number 50,000, we are one community; a welcoming community that unequivocally opposes and denounces racism, harassment, racial slurs and discrimination.

Pet therapy

Kima, Happy, Pablo and Uzi are some of the most popular names on campus. That’s because these specially trained therapy dogs are always ready to lend an ear or let you cuddle your cares away. Everyone has days when depression, stress and anxiety can feel overwhelming, which is why uOttawa students can access this four-legged therapy.
