Youth Summer University Program

In 2025, the University of Ottawa will launch its Youth Summer University Program. For three weeks, fifty students from around the world will gather in Ottawa, a G7 capital, for academic learning, leadership training and a wide range of activities throughout the city.

Why participate

  • Discover Canada’s capital and visit key landmarks and institutions like the Supreme Court, Parliament, the Governor General’s residence, national museums and parks

  • Visit the city of Montreal for a weekend

What will be included

  • Course, course material, workshops and sociocultural activities
  • Accommodations in campus residence: individual bedroom in a double occupancy unit
  • Accommodations in a double occupancy hotel room for two nights during the Montreal weekend.
  • Meals (except during selected outings)
  • Transportation to activity locations during the program
  • Transportation to and from Ottawa’s train station, airport and bus station before and after the program
  • Security services, guides, professors and instructors throughout the program

  • Transportation to Ottawa
  • Insurance
  • Meals during selected outings
  • Travel or immigration support

Admission

Admission to this program is limited and will be based on the applicant’s profile and academic standing.

Participants will need to:

  • Be entering their senior year of high school in the year following the program
  • Provide their latest transcript and have an academic average of 85% (or equivalent) at the time of application
  • Provide a recommendation letter from their school
  • Answer an admission questionnaire
