Some graduate programs require applicants to demonstrate their level of oral and written comprehension in their second official language during the admission process. Depending on the program, certain requirements may apply.

Admissions requirements

Applicants to the graduate level programs listed below must write OLBI’s Proficiency Test in English or French and obtain a minimum score of Low Advanced (E7 or F7). Please note that for the Masters in Bilingualism Studies, the minimum score is Mid-Advanced (E8 or F8). There is a $50 fee for this test.

Program completion requirements

Some graduate level programs of study require that their students demonstrate proficiency in a second language prior to graduation. Depending on the program, students may be asked to do one of the following prior to graduation. 

  • Complete French or English as a second language courses

  • Complete the Test d’achèvement de programme pour études supérieures – anglais to demonstrate your proficiency in English or the Graduate Program Completion Test – French to demonstrate your proficiency in French.
