Description of the event
The uOttawa Library is proud to announce GIS Day 2024! Join us and hear how uOttawa students, staff, and faculty are using GIS in their research. Attendance is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about GIS. This year’s event will be entirely held in person with no virtual option. Complimentary coffee and snacks will be provided.
Call for Presentations
We are accepting presentations from uOttawa graduate students, research groups, and faculty for our afternoon presentation series. Presentations should be 15 minutes in duration, with 5 minutes for questions (20 minutes total). Presentations can be about a past or current research project involving any GIS/mapping software product.
We are still looking for additional presenters for GIS Day. Please consider submitting a presentation proposal - all are welcome! The event will be quite informal and projects do not need to be completed or polished to present at the event. We look forward to hearing about your projects!
If you are interested in presenting, please submit a presentation proposal to [email protected] that outlines the following:
- The presentation title
- The software used (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, etc.)
- A few sentences overview (e.g., summary of the project, analysis preformed, results, lessons learned/tips and tricks)
Tentative schedule
- Speaker series 1 (1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.)
- Coffee & snacks (2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
- Speaker series 2 (2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
