Overview
The theme of the JPDS this year is “Flourishing Together: Cultivating Well-Being in Educational Spaces.” Building a strong sense of community among graduate students and faculty members, this theme invites us to explore actionable ways we can promote well-being as students, educators, counsellors, and health professionals. From encouraging equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom to leveraging innovative technologies to support mental health and combat stigma surrounding mental illness, we can all play a vital role in fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.
What are students and education professionals experiencing in this post-COVID era? How can we contribute to cultivating well-being in diverse learning settings? What are the implications of health promotion efforts within classrooms and healing spaces? What challenges and opportunities lie ahead in our pursuit of well-being across campuses? Can we carve out time to come together and discuss these important subject matters?
The purpose of this year’s JPDS is to unite graduate students and faculty in sharing, (un)learning, and (re)constructing our understanding of well-being promotion in educational contexts. Ultimately, we wish to build a vibrant community in which we can flourish together.
Join us as we engage in meaningful conversations that will shape our collective journey toward well-being in learning environments!
