Lavalléville

The old Adolphe Lavallé, son of Napoleon, leads his village and family with an iron fist. In Lavalléville, they work, love, and die within a vast enclosure orchestrated by Adolphe’s power. But the prisoners of Adolphe try to escape, to "de-poign" themselves. As age and solitude take hold, Adolphe can no longer maintain control. Thinking he is losing his mind, he calls upon a charlatan, Mr. Cyrbantigne Lariproutre. He only exacerbates Adolphe's problems by trying to steal his wife and money. Ultimately, it is Ambroise, Adolphe’s son, who, with the help of the crippled Albert, manages to remove his father's visor and show him that there is more to life than Lavalléville and the paranoid ugliness that reigns there.
