To celebrate the Mois de la Francophonie, the University of Ottawa interviewed students from the four corners of the world, who highlight the Francophonie in a video.

These ambassadors of the French language describe their lives and reflect on the diversity and richness of their language and their cultures on campus. Each of these interviews reveals a unique, tangible aspect of the multicultural mosaic that is our university.

These varied statements from the heart reveal a multifaceted picture of the Francophonie, one that goes beyond accents to encorporate a host of experiences, stories and dreams. Once again, we prove that our community is about more than teaching and learning; it’s a place where the Francophonie thrives in all its diversity, nourished by the many cultures that make it up.

This video honours the many facets of the Francophonie and encourages us to recognize and value each voice in this ongoing conversation on identity, belonging and community.

Let’s watch this inspiring video together and get swept up in the stories of these students, who genuinely contribute to the vitality of the Francophonie on our campus.
