This workshop is jointly organized by the Global South Caucus and the International Organizations Section of the International Studies Association (ISA), as part of the ISA Conference in San Francisco, USA, from April 3 to 6.
At the conference, her paper presentation focused on norm shaping in the development of bilateral labour agreements (BLAs_, juxtaposing the International Organizations for Migration (IOM)'s mandate in labour movements with the African Union's goal of regional integration. She explored how both organizations' policy and programmatic approaches to labour migration influence the framing of BLAs with African states. The rich dialogue at the workshop was engaging and stimulating, highlighting the nuanced understanding of the Global South and the role of international organizations in and with them.
