Lynn Rivard- Health and Safety Leader for April
We’re delighted to announce that Lynn Rivard, chief administrative officer, Faculty of Arts, has been named the Health and Safety Leader of the month for April at uOttawa.

Lynn saw a group of people on the roof of a University of Ottawa building who appeared to have gotten there by climbing the scaffolding. Lynn believed they had done so to view the solar eclipse. She noted that several of the group did not appear to be construction workers, as they were not wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).

Lynn immediately reported her safety concern and an investigation was quickly undertaken. Lynn’s awareness of the PPE requirements and her willingness to ensure others’ safety and that uOttawa is a safe place to work is a clear demonstration of the core values of the uOttawa health and safety program and policy. Lynn’s actions show leadership and care for the safety of our community.

Thank you, Lynn, for being a safety leader. Our deepest congratulations.

We encourage all members of the University community to continue demonstrating a commitment to health and safety in their own roles. We look forward to honouring future recipients.

To nominate a safety leader, email the Office of the Chief Risk Officer.
