Message on the conflict in the Middle East

uOttawa's Tabaret Hall in the fall
The escalation of violence in the Middle East since Hamas’ attack in Israel affects us all, but some people more than others. Members of our Israeli and Palestinian communities are directly affected and especially need our support at this time.

Our priority is the safety and well-being of every member of our community. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to use our campus support services  if you need them, or to turn to our multifaith centre

The scale of the suffering caused by this violence will certainly generate strong feelings and intense conversations. The University of Ottawa strives to create an environment where different identities and opinions can be expressed in a spirit of mutual respect. Such respect is a fundamental value that characterizes our community. No incitement of hatred can ever be justified.

Our community stands in solidarity with all those who suffer, directly or indirectly, due to this conflict. We offer our sincere condolences to all those who have lost loved ones and hope that the future brings a lasting peace in which human rights and the dignity of every individual are respected by all.
