TerraFixing has developed the only direct air carbon capture (DAC) technology for capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) in cold, dry climates. Its process uses proven materials and machinery. The adsorption-based technology is designed to be mobile, so it can fit in a shipping container with only one input (renewable electrical energy) and one output (pure CO2). By locating its DAC solution in locations with cold, dry climates, proximity to sequestration sites and access to underutilized clean and affordable energy sources, TerraFixing has achieved the lowest cost to total CO2 ratio — a real solution to climate change.
GastroTrackAI works in the gastrointestinal health industry, a rapidly-growing area due to an increased prevalence of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders among aging populations, and a higher consumption of processed and fatty foods. It offers an innovative solution for people with digestive issues to easily track their diet, medication, exercise and gastrointestinal symptoms. The service allows paid users to determine their food sensitivities or intolerances using the app’s AI functionality.
NXoCare is developing a platform to help patients, their families and health-care providers better access and share records. Through its web app, patients can organize and access their health information as needed. They can also easily request records from any of their providers on the network and share them with family members, caregivers and providers, even during emergencies.
Brion Raffoul LLP, a patent and intellectual property law firm based in Ottawa, remains a MakerLaunch corporate partner, offering counsel and industry expertise in crafting IP strategies for each startup. This firm has been a partner of MakerLaunch since 2019.
The program also welcomes Deloitte as a new corporate partner, to assist founders and startups with sourcing tax credits, grants, venture capital funding and loans.
