What is Mini Medical School?

Originating from the University of Ottawa in 2004, this program has gained popularity and boasts over 2000 graduates to date. While it may not grant a medical license, Mini Medical School engages learners in dynamic medical lectures, fostering interest and knowledge of healthcare and related disciplines.

You are participating in an event during which the University of Ottawa will be taking photographs, recording video or making audio recordings. The photographs, videos and audio recordings will be used for University activities, at its events and in promotional material, in both print and electronic format, including on the Internet via the University’s website or social media websites (“Purpose”). The photographs, videos and audio recordings produced may contain your recognizable image, which is considered personal information. Course Cancellation Policy
The University of Ottawa, CPD reserves the right to cancel courses. Registrants will be notified at the earliest possible date in the event of a cancellation. Registration fees for courses cancelled by the University of Ottawa, CPD will be refunded; however the University of Ottawa, CPD will not be liable for any loss, damages or other expenses that such cancellation may cause.

The University of Ottawa, Faculty of Medicine and its Office of Continuing Professional Development are proud of the success of its programs which have been held each Spring and Fall since 2004. Over 2200 people have now "graduated" from our Mini Medical School.

Mini-Medical School is a popular and ever growing concept being offered all over Canada and the United States for the public. It is an innovative and entertaining series of lectures on medicine and health that are 'just like going to medical school' (but without the long hours and hard work!).

The University of Ottawa has designed a Mini Medical School program to stimulate and satiate your curiosity about the human body and the many health issues we face as a society. It combines the basic sciences (anatomy, physiology) with clinical cases in each lecture so participants can experience 'being a doctor.'

Mini Medical School offers exclusive opportunities to profile your business and resources you have available. Mini Medical School sees around 200 participants weekly including high school students, middle aged and older adults - all interested in public health and healthcare.
