In 2018, I completed animal training through the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and since 2024, I have been working with mice in my research.
My training includes extensive work with animal models, particularly in the context of cancer research and drug discovery. I have designed and conducted in vivo experiments to study the efficacy and mechanism of action of novel chemical compounds on cancer progression. Additionally, I have experience performing animal handling, dosing, and tissue collection, ensuring ethical compliance and adherence to experimental protocols.
I have some experience and training in working with mice, and have administered intraperitoneal doses to them. I know how to hold them, and feed them. But I will require better expertise in handling it again, since it has been more than 6 months.
The training included ordering and handling rats which were done at uOttawa, performing euthanasia with isoflurane was done at the Heart Institute, and for a previous position, I extracted spinal cord tissue following euthanasia.
