Animal maintenance for mice and rats, I cleaned the cages and replenished feed and water, it involved taking them out of their cages temporarily and putting them back in.
I previously received training on working with zebrafish for the Ekker Lab (NSERC USRA). I am now doing my honours project with the Pamenter Lab and need rodent training.
The Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Japan, During 2003-2006
During my Ph.D. studies in Japan, I received training in animal care, specifically working with mice, rats, and frogs for my research project. This training involved handling and caring for these animals in compliance with ethical guidelines, ensuring their welfare throughout experimental procedures. My experience included tasks such as maintaining animal health, proper handling techniques, and performing specific experimental protocols related to my research.
I learned how to wean mice (punching holes in ears for later identification, and DNA collection using tip of tail for genotyping), how handle them safely for physical identification, how to dispatch mice using CO2 and cervical dislocation, and how to dissect them for the collection intestinal tissue.

I have been working on mice for more than 5 years, trained + assessed on intramuscular in neonatal pups (P2-P20), intraspinal injections in pre-weaned animals or adults and brain injections. The intraspinal injections includes lumbar and cervical injections with dorsal laminectomy.
