ACVS -Online theoretical training, attendance at a virtual orientation session, and practical hands-on sessions on working with rats - May 2022
The training was very well aligned with the research that I conducted. I had a very informative session on rat handling and I was able to successfully conduct behaviour tests for my project.
The training I received was about animal care and the ethics of using animal models within a laboratory. I have worked with mice before without handling them. I would like to receive basic handling training.
2022C Experimental Fish - CAN (AQUA-PD1000-5) May 2023
I worked in an aquatics animal lab working with fish last summer of 2023. There was a course that I had taken prior to this regarding handling and care of fish in the laboratory setting. This training was aimed to help with the understanding of animal welfare and the specific needs of laboratory fish as research models.
The training on handling rabbits was provided at Advanced Centre for Training, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), India in 2019.
I was taught how to handle rabbits and routinely weigh and feed them. I was also taught to assist the principal investigator in surgeries related to the project I was assigned for.
